On Break /RP Starter/

It was hot today, and he could feel the sweat beading down his flesh as the sun shone high above his head. Glob it was hotter today than it had been in weeks, and he would have changed into shorts instead of heading out in overalls. That was a mistake on his part, and he reaped what he sowed from it. But, he could push past it and finish the work for today if he just kept focus. And it wasn't too hard seeing as the other hands were on the other side of the field chatting it up. The noise often distracted him, and kept him from doing his work... Those guys sure had mouths on 'em, and didn't seem to understand that work was work. It was work. Not fun time.
An hour or so after his overall realization, was break time. And he was thankful as gob that he could sit for a few minutes. His back ached, and a few pops of joins sounded when he stood back up straight. You'd think someone his age would be used to this type of manual labor. Nope, of coarse not. It just got harder each day so there was no way he was used to it. His dad in his old age, 'bestowed' upon him his duties. And those duties, were thins he wished he wasn't able to do.
A sigh escaped him when he took a seat on his favorite bench, and just then a breeze went by him, successfully cooling his flesh. Well that was certainly a pleasant welcome to his break time. What made it better.. His hand slipped into his pocket and pulled a small maroon book from it's confides. Now, his resting would be perfect.
The book was old, slightly tattered with many a dog eared pages from his past readings of the adventures that laid inside but, he didn't care. It was one of the novels that kept his interest no matter how many times he read it. The tales within it dating back to Shakespearean time simply never got old, never got irrelevant. He would always adore them.
